Field Lectures on Election Adjudication

As part of its advocacy to inform the public of the nuances of the Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) Automated Election System (AES) and the changes in the dynamics of dispute resolution under the new system, Libertas conducted three (3) field lectures for the months of April and May 2010.


On April 13, 2010, Atty. Vincent Pepito F. Yambao, Jr. lectured before an audience of around 150 police officers at the Manila Police District. Atty. Yambao’s lecture was part of the Seminar on Laws and Jurisprudence for the Philippine National Police sponsored by the Training and Convention Division of the University of the Philippines Law Center.



On April 30, 2010, Atty. Luie Tito F. Guia lectured before around148 law graduates and prospective bar examinees at the University of the Philippines Law Center.


On May 3, 2010, the Election Adjudication Project and Pera at Pulitika (PAP) jointly held a field lecture to popularize the issue of campaign finance and the adjudication of election disputes in automated election system at the Villa Lucila Resort, Trece Martirez, Cavite. Around 93 locals, including members of non-government organization attended the event.


All the participants in the field lectures were given copies of Libertas publications, including the Primer on Disqualification Cases and the Quick Guide on Pre-Proclamation Controversy & Election Protests.
