COMELEC proclaims 28 party-list group; defers proclamation of 11 others

On May 31, 2010, the Commission on Elections proclaimed 28 party-list groups as winners in the May 10 elections. Seven groups have won two seats each at the House of Representatives, while the rest, one seat each. These account for 35 out of the 57 seats in the House allotted for party-list groups.

The poll body deferred the proclamation of 11 party-lists that have pending disqualification cases filed against them or their nominees, including: Ako Bicol Political Party, Buhay Hayaan Yumabong Party-list, 1st Consumers Alliance for Rural Energy, Citizens’ Battle Against Corruption, LPG Marketers Association, Inc., Ang Asosayon Sang Manguguma Nga Bisaya-Ow Mangunguma, Inc., Association of Philippine Electric Cooperatives, Alliance for Nationalism and Democracy, 1-UTAK, A Teacher and BUTIL.
